SIFE competes at world cup in Germany

Flagler College’s Students in Free Enterprise took its national championship team to Berlin to compete at the SIFE World Cup in October.

This was the second time FCSIFE has made it to the world stage, and they represented the United States alongside teams from 40 countries, including Brazil, China, Germany, Russia, the United Kingdom, France and Japan.

Unfortunately, the team did not move on to the semifinals. French University in Egypt was later crowned SIFE World Cup Champion. More than 1,000 students took part in the World Cup.

Flagler won the SIFE USA National Competition in Philadelphia this past May where they beat out teams from Carnegie Mellon University, University of Florida and two-time World Cup champions Drury University. Flagler also competed in the World Cup as national champion in 2004, and placed second.

SIFE is a global nonprofit organization made up of student teams who develop projects that create economic opportunity by teaching concepts related to free-market economics, business ethics, entrepreneurship, personal finance and success skills.
